Remembrance gifts

For the days that still belong to them

The first anniversary. Their birthday. Mother's Day without her, Father's Day without him. On the days grief returns, a remembrance gift says: they are still here, in everything they left us.

When flowers aren't enough

Flowers fade by the weekend. A mosaic portrait — made from the family's own photographs — is a remembrance that stays on the wall and gathers people in front of it, year after year. It is the gift families describe as "the one that made everyone cry, and then made everyone talk."

Ideas from our families

The anniversary portrait: siblings each contribute their favourite photos, one mosaic for the family home.
The birthday remembrance: a smaller print for a parent marking a child's birthday, made from every photo of them together.
The wedding table: a mosaic of a grandparent displayed at a wedding they could not attend.

Made with care, whenever you're ready

There is no right timeline for remembering. Whether the loss is fresh or twenty years old, the photos are waiting — and turning them into something beautiful is often the gentlest way back to them.

Questions families often ask

How long before an anniversary or birthday should we order?

Allow about two weeks to be comfortable: a few days for gathering photos and approving the preview, and about a week for museum-grade printing and insured delivery. If the date is closer than that, email hello@mosaicofalife.com — we will tell you honestly whether it can be met.

What if the family’s photos are old, damaged or all different qualities?

That mix is the material, not a problem. Old prints can be photographed or scanned with a phone in seconds, and because every photo becomes a small tile, faded and imperfect pictures sit naturally beside recent ones. A remembrance made only of flawless photos would tell less of the story.

Is the gift a digital image or a printed piece?

A printed piece, made to last: archival fine art paper, canvas or acrylic glass, in sizes from desk to statement wall. You (or the family) see and approve a full digital preview first, so the gift that arrives is exactly the one you intended — a portrait meant for the wall, not a file on a phone.

When you are ready

There is no deadline for remembering. Gather the photos you love — we will help them become one.
